Refers to the state of one's emotional and psychological health
Emotional wellness encompasses the ability to understand and manage one's emotions
effectively, cope with life's challenges, maintain satisfying relationships and experience
overall happiness and fulfillment. Emotional wellness involves having a positive sense
of self, being resilient in the face of adversity, and having the capacity to experience
and express a wide range of emotions in a healthy and balanced way.
It's important to note that emotional wellness is a dynamic process, influenced by
various factors. Taking proactive steps to nurture your emotional wellness can contribute
to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Questions to ask yourself:
Am I generally content, happy and fulfilled, or do I frequently experience negative
emotions like sadness, anxiety or anger?
Do I have healthy coping mechanisms in place and strategies to reduce stress?
Do I have a strong support system of friends and loved ones who are there for me during
challenging times?
Am I able to express my emotions in a healthy and constructive manner? Do I feel comfortable
sharing my feelings with others, or do I tend to suppress or avoid them?
Do I have a sense of purpose and meaning in my life? Do I try to balance my personal,
academic and professional commitments so I don’t burn out?
